What Month to Buy/Sell Bitcoin

Bitcoin is not a stock.  Does it follow the December/January pattern anyway? I did a quick study of ten years of closing data to find out.  The following is a graph of the average price at closing from January 1, 2015, until December 31, 2024:

It appears that there is no December/ January effect.  However, there is another monthly effect.  April seems to be the highest exchange rate for Bitcoin and October seems to be the lowest.  There are other factors that matter a great deal more than the month of the year, but if you have already taken those factors into account, a purchase in October and a sell in April can give you an added edge…similar to the December/January effect of many stocks.

In fact, the effect size is a 57% return on investment (on average) for only six months (so more than a doubling of your original investment annualized).  The S&P 500 generally yields about a 10% return on investment.  This is more than ten times that!

You must know your own situation, your tolerance for risk, and your time frame to be able to make your own investment decisions.  This is just some historical data to consider as you consider your next investment.
